History

Among the largest steel manufacturers in southern India , Vijayaa Steels is part of the Tulsyan Group of Companies. Established in Bangalore in 1972, the Tulsyan Group primarily engaged in steel trading.  In 1991, the Group acquired the sick rolling mills of Vijayaa Steels which was manufacturing plain rods and ventured into steel manufacturing.

Equipped with the latest technology and technical know how, Vijayaa Steels was south India 's first completely automated rolling mill.  It started producing Tor steel and then TMT.  With a capacity of 78000 Tonnes Per Annum (TPA) the plant's product portfolio includes angles, rounds, flats, squares and channels among other products.

In 2002, a fully integrated steel plant was set up in Neelamangala in Bangalore , adding further capacity to Vijayaa Steels. Among secondary steel producers, this is the biggest plant in Bangalore and amongst the largest in south India .  The plant produces ingots to support the rolling mills with the capacity to produce 48000 TPA. It also has a state-of-the-art Sponge Iron plant with a capacity of 30000 TPA to augment the raw material.  Various sections of Flats, Angles, Squares etc. with a capacity of 7200 TPA are also produced in a rolling mill at the plant.

A third plant, with the capacity of 300 tons per day is set up at Kunigal. This is a completely integrated unit with a 25-ton induction furnace that produces billets.  This plant is the largest in south India and the fifth of its kind across the country

Vijayaa Steels is at the forefront for a leading position amongst the secondary steel manufacturers in India with a focus on the longs segment. They  also plan to enter the primary segment in the near future.
